Illinois Insurance Center in Chicago offers SR22 insurance certificates for Illinois drivers.
Because SR22 insurance is only available from authorized companies, you need to find one of these companies to write your SR22 policy. Illinois Insurance Center is an authorized company, and we serve Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.
SR22 insurance is required if you have had your license revoked or suspended. SR22 proves that you do have auto insurance and is usually used for high-risk drivers. It proves that your vehicle will be insured when your license is reinstated.
Illinois Insurance Center provides two SR22 certificates: an owner’s SR22 certificate and a non-owner’s SR22 certificate. If you own the vehicle that you are driving, you will need an owner’s certificate. If you do not own the vehicle, you will need a non-owner’s certificate.
You must maintain your SR22 insurance for three years. If you do not, your driving record will again be suspended until you can re-obtain SR22 coverage. You must also renew your SR22 insurance at least 45 days in advance to avoid suspension.
